Dilip Buildcon has been declared as the lowest bidder (L1) for the development of twin-tower project in Goa. The work is yet to be officially awarded to the company by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH)
The project will be executed under public-private partnership (PPP) mode, and the contractor will recover its investment in the towers from revenue generated by visitors. The towers are expected to be developed on the two pylons of the new eight-lane cable-stayed bridge over River Zuari, connecting North and South Goa. The pylons of the new Zuari bridge have already been built to withstand the weight of the twin towers
As per the plans, a parking area will be constructed for visitors on the bank of River Zuari below the existing bridge. It will be connected to the towers’ base by a walkway. Tourists will be taken to the tower’s top by a high-speed elevator. Moreover, the construction of the twin towers will not be fully funded by the government
Each tower will have an observatory on top, to which the contractor will charge a fee and keep part of the revenue, while a part of it will go to the government
